I had to edit my review because when I first tried it, it wouldn’t work on my ps5. Then I plugged it into my computer and found that it wasn’t being recognized. I had to go through a process to Initialize and format the drive. Once I did that, I tried it again on my ps5, and this time it let me format it. Now it works great.

Great product. Only thing I wasn’t sure of but confirmed was that there is a power cable so I needed the outlet space. Ordered the 6TB and it was packaged as 6TB but when hooked up and formatted is reading 7.3TB which in the description is a property of the 8TB drive, so not going to complain. If you have the available plug space I would definitely recommend.

I can tell that the hard drive is quick; the data transferred much faster than my previous experience with the PS4. Already stored almost 3 terabytes of space. Works fantastic. So basically you plug it in, turn it on at the back and then turn on your ps5. It will run any ps4 game downloaded onto it right from the external hard drive. Ps5 games you will need to copy them back over if you have transferred them to the hard drive and then you will need the disc as well if your running it from a disc. If you downloaded the game then don’t worry about the disc. It will keep flashing while it is being used so I just put my remote i front of it so i don’t see it flashing. Do not turn it of while ps5 is running, shut the ps5 down first and then turn it of.
