   So, yeah, the PS1 was an iconic shade of “1995 computer housing plastic gray.” But the ps2? Black. The ps2 slim? Black. The ps3? Black. The ps3 slim? Black. The ps3 super slim? Black. The psp? Black. The psp go? Black. The ps vita? Black. The ps vita version 2? Black. Ps tv (even the ps tv!)? Black. The ps4? Black. The ps4 slim? Black. The ps4 pro? Black. Yes, many of these machines were eventually available in other color schemes, and that’s fine. But the worst color scheme of anything in human history ever? Black and white. Which is why the ps5 should have always been…yes, you guessed it: black. And now it is. Plates look great fit great just buy. Only difference is no logo but at least now the whole thing is BLACK.

   Looks nice. Don’t follow the directions they give, caused me to break the original white plate trying to pull the cover off/ You need to lift then slide down to get the cover off. Then found it to be a little difficult putting the new covers on, they didn’t sit that even but finally got them in. The lights are a pretty cool feature.

   The black color looks good with the rest of the PS5 console. I’d watch a video on how to replace this as the directions don’t really cover it well enough (specifically the motion to remove the old face plates).

    Certainly not the best made covers – the disc-side panel took me 5-10 minutes to get each prong properly nested, creatively putting pressure in certain spots as I gently tried to get it all to mate up without breaking those same prongs since they’re definitely more brittle looking than the original Sony version. Just isn’t *quite* the right shape, but I was able to get it to seat with effort and none broke. It looks simple and black just like we wanted. Probably a bit expensive for what these are but they’re fine. The controller covers I guess would be good for kids simply to protect them a bit, but neither me nor my wife liked the feel of them at all, and when they’re on the buttons are annoying recessed and harder to press. We tossed them back in the box after trying one for 10 minutes.
    Overall these covers work if you’re just after a different color or classic black.

    I will say this first, you need to go on YouTube and look for a video of them explaining how to take off the panels before you attempt it yourself. Because I was in the dark for a while until I got on my computer to see how it was done. Once I saw it and figured it out and did it on my own I was pleasantly surprised. It looks good and it has a classic PlayStation look or a death Star type of vibe to it with the all black panel sides. Love it
