Be aware that the version of the game on the disc has a GAME-BREAKING BUG that prevents the story from being progressed in some cases. The bug occurs in a late game area and manifests by blocking room transitions. The area in question is structured like a maze, resulting in multiple soft-lock situations and no way to progress. Quitting out does NOT fix the issue.
At the time of this review, the developers of Tevi had announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they were aware of the bug and were planning to deploy a patch fix for PS5 on 06-25-2024 (apparently this bug also affects the PS4 version of the game, patch scheduled for 07-02-2024).
However, for physical collectors like myself who care about having a fully functional game on the disc/cart without needing to download mandatory patches to make the game playable, you’d be better off buying the Switch version instead.

Really fun metroidvania with a pretty big map and multiple upgrades hidden all over. Starts off very basic with movement and by the end of it, it’ll play completely different.
Areas aren’t too different but there are many of them, progressively getting harder so it builds up nicely. Bosses are the highlight and if you love bullet hell games then you’ll love this one.
Plus, the character sprites and voice acting is great!

If you love metroidvania games or have play the Rabi Ribi game before, this is a must buy for any fans of the genre. The character pixel sprites are adorable, the artwork is amazing and the music is great. Please don’t over look this hidden gem.
